CSA Services
Assorted Promo & Branding
The Central Student Association provides over a dozen unique services to undergrad students at the University of Guelph. Each service has to play nicely with the over-arching CSA brand identity, but also stand out as their own individual thing that’s easily recognizable to students on campus. The CSA has a pretty long history – it was originally founded in 1973 –so there’s been a lot of hands on the branding and things had gotten a bit messy by the time I showed up.
As an obnoxious perfectionist, a big goal of mine as the CSA designer was to refine, refresh, and build out the services individual visual identities so that they better reflected and appealed to a modern student population, while staying cohesive to each other and to the broader CSA identity. I recreated logos, expanded colour palettes, established font treatments, and built out asset libraries over the course of 2 years and those foundations I created have carried on to this day. Below is a curated selection of some of my favourite pieces.
CSA Clubs
Logo Refresh — Social Media — Event Promo
A well-deserved Logo Refresh to create a cleaner, more modern look that fit in better with the other services’ logos.
Historically, Clubs Days is a week-long biannual event where undergrads can meet the over 100 clubs on campus. Since in-person events aren’t a thing at the moment, the Clubs office created a digital event hosted on Instagram instead. I created a variety of pieces inspired by the new hiking trail-themed “embrace the journey” slogan.
SHAC: Student Help & Advocacy Centre
Banners & Posters — Social Media Campaigns — Branding
Learning Your Lease was a multi-part social media campaign to help breakdown the standard lease in order for students to feel more secure when renting. In addition to the social media graphics, we also created a simple document version for SHAC to distribute.
Branding & Graphics for SHAC’s Advocacy Spotlight, a new initiative that features interviews with local advocacy organizations.
